The Rockettes are back in town in the new Christmas show at Radio City Music Hall. The traditional favorites are still part of the show, including the Parade of the Wooden Soldiers and the Live Nativity. There is something really cool about seeing live camels on the stage.
In addition to these scenes, several new ones have been added. The most spectacular is the opening, a 3-D movie. (The audience is given 3-D glasses in their programs.) Santa and his reindeer take the audience on a tour of Manhattan from the sky, past the Empire State Building, through Central Park, by the holiday-clad windows of Fifth Avenue, and finally land at Radio City Music Hall.
The best thing is that, although Radio City Music Hall is in New York City, there are now touring versions of the Christmas Spectacular starring the Rockettes.
This is a terrific event to share with children. Toys are fun Christmas presents, but the best thing that you can give a child in your life is the memory of a shared event. Make a day of it and celebrate the holidays together.
